Ba-si alloy is used in steelmaking as deoxidizer and desulfurizer. According to China Metallurgical Standard (YB/T 066-1995), ba-Si aluminum alloy can be divided into 5 grades according to the content of silicon, barium and aluminum. The delivery size of ba-Si aluminum alloy is 10 ~ 100mm, among which the delivery size of less than 10mm does not exceed 5% of the total amount, and that of greater than 100mm does not exceed 8% of the total amount. The demander has special requirements for grain size, which shall be agreed upon by both parties.

Silica-barium alloy is a multi-component composite alloy, which is divided into seven grades according to the content of silicon and barium. The parameters are shown in the table below.

Silica-barium alloy is a long - acting and efficient inoculant in cast iron production. Using silica-Barium alloy is more effective and economical than using ferrosilicon. One t of barium silicon alloy can replace 1.5t of ferrosilicon.
